The wood handle is attached by a pin and not a screw. It is a 4 paddle stirring assembly not 2 or 3. Did you take notice of the pour hole for the cream on the top, most do not have this and if they do, it is just an opening and not with all the holes to help the cream slowly enter the process and add air. It weighs in at 4 ½ Lbs, this is cast metal and not an inexpensive reproduction.
It is clean and I would not hesitate to use it. I'm not sure if url's posted will show, I'll try but all you have to do is a search for "reproduction butter churn" read some articles and get educated.
