Antique DAZEY Round Butter Churn No. Instead it turns very smooth an hums right along as i can only imagine it did nearly a Century ago when it was new.

Some wear the metal top of the screw on top, i kinda like the way it looks. Does have some small air bubbles in the glass(see pics).

Has the S shaped handle which is on the earlier versions. If your interested i do have some information on the history of the item. This is what i recall him telling me about his beautiful property an the churner. He took great care of it an i could tell he had an attachment to it. In the late 1930'-1940's this very hospitable couple i once had the pleasure of meeting years ago built their 1st home up on the hillside of a beautiful little cove that overlooked The Lake Of The Ozarks just outside the small town of Camdenton Missouri.

After the house was completed land was cleared over the hillside from the house to make way for a small working farm which included several fields, stables an a barn which housed a variety of livestock including several dairy cows which prompted the parents of the bride to pass along thier butter churner to them an with a lot of elbow grease it provided fresh churrned butter for their family for decades to come. I was also told to keep it top working condition required a little maintenance now an again. When needed a light oiling of the crank gear now an again.

An when stopped being used he wipe a very small amount of USDA approverd non toxic mineral oil (same as you would use to oil your cutting board) on the paddles to help preserve the wood. This really shows as was/is a well preserved piece of history.

One last thing he mentioned he would do. Over the years there would be sharp glass that would from wear on the inside of the rim of the glass, he said he would gently file them down so no one would cut themselves on them. If you have questions or need an additional pic of something just ask an ill get back to you right away.
