Hard to find large Davis Swing Churn from the late 1800's. It was made by Vermont Farm Machine Co. Patented on May 1, 1877 and Sep 9, 1879. This rare butter churn is marked #4 which indicated that it was 20 gallons in size and could churn 10 gallons in butter. The patina is excellent, showing a nice amount of wear on the original mustard color.
The solid oak stand and iron hardware features folding legs which allows the stand to be folded flat for easy storage or transport. To my knowledge, the churn is complete. It includes both handles, lid with small peep glass window, drain plug, hanging chains & support brackets, churn, & folding frame. There is obvious scratches, wear, & a old repaired crack. Please ask if you have any questions. The item "Rare Antique Davis Swing Butter Churn Vintage Large 10 Gallon Western Decor" is in sale since Sunday, May 28, 2017.
