LARGE 1876 BUCKEYE BUTTER CHURN CO. The Buckeye Churn Company was formed in Carey, Ohio, and relocated to Sidney, Ohio in the late 1800s. They specialized in making butter churns, along with some other miscellaneous wood items. Interestingly they employed the use of a cast iron track to hold and rock the churn back and forth which can be seen in the pictures.
The dividers inside helped separate the butter from the milk. This particular model is stenciled IMPROVED BUCKEYE CHURN and the patent date is 1876.This churn is complete with all the original pieces and parts. It really does not appear to have been used that much as it is extremely clean. The barrel is 24 long and the stand is 24 high.
