This is a very rare antique metal cylinder butter churn with wood interior dasher paddles. We have not been able to find who it was made by.
It is all measurements approx. 12-1/2" tall and 11" dia.
And 16 long including the handle. It appears to be in very good overall condition and the crank, handle and wood dasher paddles all appear to be original and in great condition. It has patina, dings, and dents typical of a well used kitchen item 100 years old, but has no rust through observed upon close inspection. There seems to be a flattened out area at the very bottom of the churn, which is unseen as displayed.Could probably be popped back out if you wished but it does not effect the operation or appearance of the churn. These churns were popular because they cleaned up better than the wooden ones of the same design and there was no concerns of the wood splitting from reaction to constantly being wet and then drying out.
