This late 19th or early 20th century butter churn measures approx 17Hx13Wx15L & weighs 13 1/2 lbs alone. It was acquired in a PA estate sale & has a very faint letter "H" visiible as part of a name advertised on one side. This primitive piece was never stained or painted & comes complete, except for a small knob missing from its lid.
The churn does have uneven feet while resting on a table & it came with the name Shirley H Smith written on a label. The overall condition is very good with no damage & all else is intact. However, the crank handle does not turn the inner churn anymore. It looks like the square end of the handle does not catch in the inner rounded hole.
X 16H & weighs 16 1/2 lbs with all contents. The item "Antique Primitive Wooden Barrel Butter Churn 15Lx13Wx17H" is in sale since Thursday, July 14, 2016.
