Primitive pottery butter churn with wooden lid, includes handle and churn paddles. 10" tall x 9" wide excluding the handle. This was a utilitarian item and it shows lots of evidence of use. The crock has several chips and a few gouges, one of them is 1.5 long. The handle has darkening and the wood is a little bit soft feeling at the business end, as are the two dovetailed parts that make the churn. It may not be safe to use for food preparation with the condition of the existing wood, but it is a wonderful decorative artifact. What you see here is exactly what you will receive. It is a previously owned estate item and may have evidence of age-appropriate use.
