The metal canister has no rust through but has had a 5/16 hole drilled through the bottom, (perhaps for a light cord as a display item at one time), and the whole thing has lots of patina typical of a well used kitchen item 100 years old. The hole in the bottom of the canister would need to be simply patched or plugged if this was to be actually used for butter churning instead of simple display. Please refer carefully to the photos to decide the condition of the item for yourself.
