It is marked on the front: 4 QT, then in a circle: DAZEY CHURN & MFG. The underside of the bottom has a 1.125 round circle in the middle and no other text. The base measures 6" x 6" x 9.375" high with a 4.875" mouth. The base is free from chips, cracks or damage. The rim has a couple of smooth blemishes around the edge that may have been that way right out of the glass factory.The top is marked 34B on the shaft spindle and has DAZEY and a flower on both sides. The crank handle is marked 30-40 H. The 5 diameter aluminum lid includes a whey screen. The paddles appear to be in good, antique condition, free from damage.
The cast iron crank mechanism turns smoothly, as intended. The overall dimensions are 6" x 6" x 13.875 high. The jar edges were curved and the metal and the shoulders of this jar itself were rather square. The threaded cap was now straight up and down design.
The markings on the metal remained mostly the same. These are often called Bullseye Churns, and probably manufactured till around the early 1920s.
